Viande

Viande

Celebrity Chef Pete Goffe-Wood’s new restaurant offering at the stately Grande Roche Hotel in Paarl is a name change from Bosman’s to Viande – meaning meat – and delivers the finest cuts in prime, sizzling, basted, braised and served-succulent meat selections.

The Grande Roche's history dates to the early 1700s. Its buildings in the Cape vernacular have been certified a national monument. Today, the 23ha property at the foot of the majestic Paarl Mountain retains a country village feel. Bringing back into fashion the conviviality of eating together around the table, Goffe-Wood grew up in the seventies before TV dinners came about and intends to revive the tradition of cheerful conversation whilst tucking into sumptuous meals with the family.

Besides Viande’s meaty offerings, patrons might also find a few surprises through personal touches from Goffe-Wood’s own repertoire of food fancies. Viande is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with Sunday brunch on the cards as well. The new cocktail bar is the hub for the after-work slow-down, serving innovative tapas alongside an expanded range of drinks.
